Mgr. Marta Majerčík
Marta is a professional Dance Teacher, Choreographer, Performer and Instructor & Founder of Energy Latino Dance.
She has been a Dance Teacher for over 12 years and has been dancing since she was 7 years old. Marta started with Ballet and Musical and followed that with Ballroom dancing and she has been dancing Salsa since 2002.
She originally came from Slovakia where she established and directed her own dance school LATINODANCE by Marta running various classes for adults and children. She has been traveling around her country and Europe to teach various dances (mainly Salsa) and share her enthusiasm and love for these dances & culture in many dance schools.
With her charismatic personality, talent & drive she has achieved several goals in her career including organising two international dance festivals with one of the world's most famous artists (1st and 2nd LATINODANCE event in Slovakia in 2010 & 2011) as well as being honored to be nominated by a special award from the Slovak Institute of Gender Equality under the auspices of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Social and family: Extraordinary woman of Slovakia (2011). Honorable mention.
She has worked on her projects with artists such as Alberto Valdes and his Clave Negra, Cuba MiSalsa festivals, Seo Fernandez, DJ Danis La Clave, Andria Panagi, Carlos Miranda, Fredy Clan, Palo Duro, Renato Veronezi and many more. Marta performs mainly solo and in the past as a part of her SoS dance duo. She has also coached her children's dance crew Caramelitas famous in their county as a unique dance crew, which was regularly invited to perform at community and school's events.
Marta's expertise:
Classical dance, Jazz, Contemporary, Latin & Ballroom dances (3rd place in Slovak Championship 2001), Slovak folklore dances, Cuban Salsa, Rueda de Casino, Rumba, Afro Cuban, Afro, Son Cubano, Reggaeton, Cha-cha-cha, Bachata, Kizomba, Zouk, Carnival Samba (Samba Brazil), Dancehall, Merengue, Street, as well as ladies styling, shines and musicality.
She performs and teaches all dances to a high level all of which are high quality. For Marta, teaching is a huge responsibility which she takes seriously on behalf of her students and as a consequence she has educated herself not only in the various dances, but also music, musicality, history and the culture of countries where the dances came from.
She has studied dance in many famous schools, congresses and workshops in various capitals of dance (Prague, Milan, Munich, Budapest, Brno, Bratislava, etc...) Marta also teach private lessons and choreographs wedding dances.
Her portfolio is large and growing. Marta's passion and love for dancing are obvious in her classes and performance. She still continues to educate herself, learn more techniques, styles and dances to deliver to her students the best quality. Marta gladly takes every opportunity to spread the joy of dance and share it with her students & audience.
Marta has got another passion and that is history. Mainly stories about World War 2 heroes, Czechoslovak heroes. During her time in UK she was very active with her husband in Slovak community in UK and she and her husband were honoured by receiving a diploma for their activities in UK. In 2018 Marta was elected a Secretary in Memorial Association for Free Czechoslovak Veterans (MAFCSV) and since her comeback to Slovakia she became International Secretary MAFCSV and continues with keeping the WW2 Czechoslovak's heroes memory alive worldwide.
